Amsterdam-based at the Tolhuistuin, Puck van Dijk is the creative force behind Studio Puck van Dijk, where she designs immersive, site-specific installations and audience experiences. Combining technologies like augmented reality, artificial intelligence, immersive soundscapes, and interactive video & light, she delves into themes of climate and ecological crises to cultivate a profound sense of place and awareness. Her projects are rooted in a sensitivity to location, local stories, and community engagement, resulting in works that are both site-specific and visceral.
For instance, Reuzen van Noord (2024) engaged the Amsterdam Noord community, inviting them to reflect on their relationship with local trees. The site-specific theater experience It Went Dark (2022) centered around audiences' moral struggles in the climate crisis, while the award-winning Good Neighbours (2021), developed with Affect Lab, offers a grim insight into surveillance within neighborhoods. With an MA in philosophy, van Dijk also works as a moderator for philosophical conversations and as a public speaker on topics of morality, creativity, and the art of listening. Through her interdisciplinary practice as a creator and philosopher, she seeks to inspire awareness and dialogue on our role in understanding and preserving the natural world.
