A Journey Through Space and Time: Inspiring the next generation at Next Nature.

On Wednesday, October 2nd, we at the Next Nature Museum had the honor of welcoming two American astronauts, Drew Feustel and Toni Antonelli in our spaceship.

The two astronauts had come all the way from America for the Association of Space Explorers congress hosted by Dutch astronaut André Kuipers. While they were staying here in the Netherlands they made a quick visit to our own spaceship in Eindhoven.

Aside from the astronauts, children of two elementary schools had been invited to the museum as well. The children got to ask the astronauts all their burning space questions. But of course such an impressive event should be remembered with a picture! Right in front of our beautiful Next Nature spaceship stood the astronauts with the children, amongst them perhaps a future astronaut or two.

Welcome to our spaceship!

Exploring the Future through curiosity.

Once the group picture was made everyone hurried inside the museum and got to look around in our two exhibitions: Spacefarming and RetroFuture. After that the children went downstairs to make their own space creations and after some loads of fun it was time to ask questions.

The questions of the children were well thought through like about the temperatures in space and the loss of muscle power. Drew and Toni answered all the questions in a comprehensible manner while director of Next Nature, Koert van Mensvoort translated things for both sides. Once the last question was answered it was sadly already time for the astronauts and the children to leave our spaceship and return back to earth.
