On November 21, we welcomed a very diverse audience to a sold-out Philipszaal for an inspiring evening with Erasmus Prize winner and philosopher Donna Haraway. The program was part of Friday Next and was organized by Next Nature in collaboration with Stichting Praemium Erasmianum. A detailed summary of Donna Haraway's lecture can be read here.

Donna Haraway is considered one of the most influential thinkers of our time. The American philosopher and historian of science gained worldwide fame with A Cyborg Manifesto (1985), in which she challenges the traditional boundaries between man and machine, nature and culture, and science and society. In her later work, she explores how humans, animals, technology, and other life forms are inextricably linked. With her innovative ideas, she has been inspiring philosophers, artists, designers, and scientists worldwide for decades.

For her exceptional contribution to the humanities, she received the prestigious Erasmus Prize in 2025. This prize is awarded annually to a person or institution that has made an exceptional contribution to the humanities, social sciences, or arts, with particular attention to tolerance, cultural diversity, and critical thinking.
