Jules Ruis

Scientist

Jules Ruis (1944, Son en Breugel) studied at Eindhoven University of Technology, Fontys (Business Administration), and SIOO (Organisational Science). He graduated with a Master's in Change Management.

Jules worked for 10 years at Philips and spent 27 years at Eindhoven University of Technology, initially as an organizational consultant, later as a permanent advisor to the Executive Board, and finally as managing director of IPO (Perception Research). In addition to his work at TU/e, Jules taught Business Administration courses for over 20 years at Philips and SIOO.

In 1997, Jules conceived the name “Brainport” for the Southeast-Brabant region in the Netherlands and introduced the concept of the Triple Helix (collaboration between knowledge institutions, government, and business). He developed the Awareness Governance Model (BBM) as a foundation for the regional Training Interaction Management (TIM) program, overseeing 16 cohorts.

In 1997, Jules also created a 3D version of the 2D “Fractal Geometry” (1968, Prof. Benoit Mandelbrot) and named this new scientific approach "Fractal Trigeometry." He successfully 3D-printed numerous fractal objects. His greatest challenge is to create fractal forms of nature using iterative mathematical formulas, which he calls the "Fractal Trigeometry of Next Nature." A showcase of Jules's “Fractal Forest” will be exhibited from early 2025 on the 4th ring of the Next Nature Museum. The development of Evoluon Park will take place under the name "Fractal Flourishing."

Jules Ruis is the founder (2004) and chairman of the Friends of the Evoluon Foundation.
