Ira van Eelen is a designer, organizer and speaker: her work integrates science, advocacy, and creativity to advance the future of food and the evolution of agriculture. She is a leading advocate in the field of cellular agriculture and specifically cultivated meat, continuing the legacy of her father, Willem van Eelen, a pioneer in cultured meat research. As such she is the cofounder of RESPECTfarms and KindEarth.Tech, where she facilitates innovative food technologies and diverse partnerships. She works on research, education and scaleup as co-founder of Stichting Cellulaire Agricultuur Nederland executing the National Growth Fund program CAN. She serves as an EU advisor for Cellular Agriculture. Ira also holds key roles including Chairman of the Invitromeat Foundation, boardmember of the Network of Cellular Agriculture and is a Member of the Advisory Board at Eat Just and GOOD Meat.
A passionate advocate for kind FoodTec, Ira also contributes to thought leadership with forewords for influential books on cultivated meat, lecturing at universities and exhibiting on the future of food in renowned science museums with the CleanMeatMachine. She has been tasting multiple cultivated meat and fish products since 2017, that earned her the nickname “The Cultivated Meat Queen”.
