The Italy based Share Festival announces the sixteenth edition of its prestigious Share Prize contest, focusing on the fusion of contemporary art with technology and science. This year’s contest is poised to reward the most innovative work with a prize of €2,500.00.

This unique contest is open to artists who are challenged to express the contemporaneity of our technological society through creative expression. Participants are invited to submit up to three artworks, which can be either published or unpublished. The Share Festival is committed to facilitating the transport and set-up of the selected works, though the production remains the responsibility of the artist or collective.

The theme for this year's Share Prize is "ALL-NATURAL," a provocative call for entries that resonate with both natural beauty and technological innovation. Set against the backdrop of Torino — a city grappling with its industrial legacy and environmental challenges — the festival seeks artworks that embody a dialectic rather than mere contradiction. Artists are encouraged to integrate natural materials in their works, reflecting on themes of environmental preservation and the innovative use of organic elements in a technologically saturated world.

Noteworthy is the participation of Bruce Sterling, Artistic Director of Share Festival, and Jasmina Tesanovic, Curator of Share Prize, who continue to shape the festival's forward-thinking vision. Adding to the prestigious jury panel this year are Koert van Mensvoort, Founder & director, and Mieke Gerritzen, Creative Director of Next Nature, who will bring their expansive experience and unique perspectives to the evaluation process.

Submissions are now open and must be registered online at www.toshareproject.it by the 9th of June 2024. No late submissions will be considered. It is an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their innovative ideas at a festival that celebrates the convergence of art and technology.
