Sitting in front of a computer and exercising have never been so closely related. Stir Kinetic Desk is just as well-suited for the workaholic as the fitness fan. The desk "breathes", moving up and down slightly, to remind users to change their position, helping improve posture.
The smart desk, created by a team of ex-Apple and Disney engineers, has a touch-screen to control and track movements, and can tell exactly how many calories a person burns by standing for part of the working day. It also has integrated power points, USB ports, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to allow for communication with third party fitness and wellness apps.
From fiction to reality: maybe the creators got inspired by the Woody Allen’s Execu-Ciser, featured in the 1971 movie Bananas.
