Travel to the center of the earth

Step in. Your expedition begins.

You descend, deeper than man has ever been. Through layers of rock, heat, and time. You pass the Earth's crust, the mantle, and an ocean of molten metal. Until you arrive at the heart of the Earth: a hidden world beneath everything that lives. Do you dare to descend?

Geolift can be seen and experienced at our Once Upon a Time... the Earth exhibition at the Next Nature Museum location.

More than 650 people traveled to space, but no one ever reached the Earth's core.

About the makers

Timaeus is a Rotterdam-based visual artist and art director. Through speculative narratives, world-building, and real-time technology, he explores ecology, technology, and non-human influence via performance, installation, light, sculpture, and animation. His work was shown at IFFR.

Aniek de Rooij is a Rotterdam-based sound designer, composer, and producer. She creates electronic music, interactive installations, and theater music for URLAND. As Alberta Balsam, her work appears with Dekmantel and Clone. With Timaeus, she develops audiovisual science fiction.

The chance that we travel to Pluto is even greater than to the core of our own planet.
