The evening was opened by Marissa Memelink and Jelle van der Ster. Brewster Kahle, Siri Beerends, and Koert van Mensvoort gave lectures on digital heritage, social media, and the question of how we can reclaim online platforms for the community.

Finally, there was a panel discussion and the official opening of the museum. There were workshops, and the Next Nature Museum was open to the public. Music was provided by Disk Jochie & Rararadio.

In the year 2025, we see the number of active users in the Netherlands only declining, or dying out. Only the hate, the polarization, the marketplace, and the advertising remain. Is this how we want to remember Facebook? Facebook has also brought us so much beauty.

For a fleeting moment in history - in 2012 - a global community seemed possible with Facebook. A world without countries, without borders, without possessions. A world where we did not look at our differences, but where we united around what we liked.
