Andres Delhaas (They/Them)
Academy Coordinator and Storyteller
Andres Delhaas is a futurist, transhumanist and honorary curator of the herpetological collection at the Natural History Museum Rotterdam. With a background in biology and a deep fascination with technology, he explores the intersection of nature, technology and the future of humanity. After years of experience in conservation and breeding programmes for exotic species, Andres went on to develop his skills in collection management, education and research supervision. By weaving together science, science fiction and philosophy into thought-provoking narratives, Andres uses the power of imagination as a driving force: a means to encourage people to think for themselves, ask questions and take a stand.
Rather than providing ready-made answers, Andres invites the audience to explore possible futures and examine their own role within them. This gives rise to new perspectives, fosters critical thinking and transforms the future into something we do not merely observe, but actively participate in.
