American scientists made a breakthrough with medical nano-bots. Thanks to nanotechnology in the near future it could be possible for people to operate inside their body, fighting disease and monitoring general health.

A research team of Penn State succeeded in implanting non toxic nano-motors into living cells. These nano-motors can be manually operated with ultrasonic and magnetic waves.

Team leader of the research Tom Mallouk explained to the Eberly College of Science: "This research is a vivid demonstration that it may be possible to use synthetic nanomotors to study cell biology in new ways. We might be able to use nanomotors to treat cancer and other diseases by mechanically manipulating cells from the inside. Nanomotors could perform intracellular surgery and deliver drugs noninvasively to living tissues."

A force of nano-bots taking care of all our medical issues, could this be the future of medicine?
