Pixelhead

I woke up this morning and grabbed my Iphone to have a browse on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. I looked at pictures of a far away friend and his family on a night out in Mexico, of an ex-colleague in a rather embarrassing outfit after loosing a bet, and to my surprise some old carnival pictures of myself, posted and tagged by a friend.

German artist Martin Backes has been kind enough to provide a solution for those of us who find this loss of privacy and animosity in the age of social media just a little bit scary. Pixelhead is "media camouflage" covering the head and neck.

We know that the digital world uses many metaphors for things found in the real world. However the digital world has become so familiar to us that real-world metaphors for virtual phenomena are starting to pop-up.
