Klarenbeek & Dros

Eric Klarenbeek and Maartje Dros form the design duo Klarenbeek & Dros. Their work focuses on social and ecological design, developing biomaterials and exploring local, sustainable production chains. Klarenbeek & Dros' artworks are included in collections at the Centre Pompidou, MoMA and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, among others. They were the first to experiment with 3D printing using fungal threads, known as mycelium, which resulted in the Mycelium Chair, among other things.

In addition to their studio, they are active as teachers at the Design Academy Eindhoven and co-founders of the Biolab.

Emma van der Leest

Biodesigner Emma van der Leest works on materials and products using various organisms, including fungi. She is the founder of BlueCity Lab and teaches at various international universities. Her work combines design, science and sustainability and focuses on a circular future in which nature acts as a partner rather than a raw material.
